The Atlanta Geological Society (AGS) is a professional society established in 1991 with individuals and corporate members interested in geosciences. AGS provides access to information and educational opportunities that are essential to the professional growth of earth scientists at all levels of expertise and from all sectors: academic, government, business, and industry. Activities include monthly lectures, workshops to help prepare candidates for the Professional Geologist exam, field trips to sites of geological interest, and grants and awards to promote geological sciences. We also host an annual dinner under the dinosaurs at Fernbank Museum where we enjoy door prizes, display exhibits of our sponsors, view technical posters, watch a giant screen movie, and dine on delicious BBQ.
To fulfil our mission, the society relies on annual dues and the generosity of our Sponsors. In return, we highlight sponsors contribution at our meetings, in our newsletter, and on our website. Typically a monthly meeting sponsor will pledge a $200 donation to AGS and receive time for a short presentation as well as the opportunity to meet and greet members during social hour before the meeting & presentation. Sponsors are provided an opportunity to advertise in the AGS monthly newsletter and are provided a link on this web site during the year of sponsorship (see bottom of page for examples). The annual dinner and movie is a more expensive event and could require multiple sponsors.
Sponsorships can be paid paid for by credit card at the AGS online Square website store (preferred) or via check made to AGS and sent to the Treasurer.
